Meet the Developer
Cecil D. Trahan began his career as an accountant with a major residential construction company, where he spent six years before transitioning to design and construction. Discontent with the company's designs, he taught himself architectural techniques by studying the works of local architects and mastering AutoCAD. This expertise allowed him to integrate design into land planning for residential and commercial subdivisions.
Over the years, Cecil has designed and built over 400 residential homes, commercial office buildings, restaurants, and medical offices across Louisiana cities such as Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Monroe, as well as in Texas and Georgia. Notable projects include the unique 6,500 square-foot camp for a Lafayette oil executive and the development of significant commercial properties like Fountain Head and the Town Center.
In the early 1990s, he partnered with John Montesano to develop a 250-acre site called Town Center. He later developed two gated subdivisions, Avalon and Club View, strategically located near prominent health and racquet clubs.
In 2012, Cecil passed on his company to his three children, who rebranded as the Trahan Group Real Estate, partnering with Coldwell Banker. Now at 86 years old, Cecil has launched his own commercial and residential design business, Cecil D. Trahan Development, LLC, continuing to contribute to the development landscape with new contemporary designs and commercial listings.
